By the Bay Parade of Homes


The goal of the “Parade of Homes by the Bay” event is to showcase the high quality of craftsmanship that we have here in our community” said Anne Paparella, executive director of the Chamber. “This is a great opportunity for local builders, associate trades and real estate brokers to get exposure that can lead to increased business, and for interested homebuyers and homeowners actively wanting to improve their homes to learn more about what options are out there.”

All ticket holders will be presented with a voucher that will be exchanged at the Parade Headquarters, By the 
Bay Chamber office, 129 S. Main Street, Kilmarnock, VA for their “Parade of Homes by the Bay” parade packet. Packet includes tickets, parade program, and discount coupons to area restaurants.

The Lancaster / Northumberland Habitat for Humanity will be turning 20 in 2016. As staple of the Northern Neck, LNHFH is grateful to be the honoree of the Parade of Homes. Since the founding of the affiliate in 1996, it has built 17 homes. On March 25, 2015 LNHFH broke ground on their 18th home, located in their Wiggins Avenue subdivision in Kilmarnock.
LNHFH is engaged in improving the lives of their neighbors, and strengthening communities one house at a time. They believe their method of constructing homes and selecting new owners is giving people in the area a hand up, not 
a handout. They are careful to select  “partners” men and women who are responsible workers and citizens who simply need help in making their first home purchase.
The featured home house 17 is in the Wiggins Avenue subdivision, and was finished May 2015. The home is a single family home built to be energy efficient. The home features three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a front and back deck and a shed.
The home is owned by Ranisha and Jentre Carter. The Carters worked alongside Habitat mentors and volunteers on the construction of their home. They plan to be alongside them during construction of house 18.
