Letter From the Editor

Welcome Home

Summer has arrived! We are beginning to see flowers in bloom, people relaxing outdoors, and our third issue on the stands. We were so excited about the response we received from advertisers and readers on our last issue. With additional staffing and more localized stories, we hope you will enjoy reading this issue even more.

This issue is packed with information on prestigious communities, outdoor solutions and so much more! We had a great time going throughout the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula, gathering information for articles and meeting with advertisers. I think each of us has located a new favorite lunch destination. This area has so much to offer with our wonderful water lifestyles. One of the reasons I am so excited about this magazine is that it digs deep into our region and showcases many treasures that even the “from heres” may have never heard about. Whether these treasures be real estate, resources, or just features yet undiscovered.

Each and every day we discover new resources throughout our community. This is quite surprising since most of our staff was born here and the rest have been here for an extended period of time. We have found that if we stray from the beaten path, just a little, our eyes are opened to so many new resources. In our journeys we have found new shops, contractors, unique craftsmen, and services with which even the metropolitan areas cannot compare.

We are also very grateful for the relationships we have gained through our travels. We have established a group of advertisers who are much more than just clients; they are our friends. Being a new magazine, we are so grateful to our advertisers for taking a leap of faith and joining us. We will work hard to keep them as excited about a new issue in five years as they are these first few.— jlb
