Each year, downtown transforms into a winter wonderland filled with small-town charm and community cheer. It’s a place where tradition, connection, and the holiday spirit come together in perfect harmony.
On Saturday, December 6th, the festivities unfold all day long with something for everyone to enjoy.
Start your celebration with the Holiday Open House, as Main Street’s shops and restaurants welcome visitors with festive décor, cheerful spirit, and a day full of holiday shopping and dining in downtown Gloucester. Families can enjoy pictures with Santa at 10:00 AM, discover fun holiday activities, and find unique gifts for everyone on their list—all while taking in the joyful sights and sounds of the season.
Throughout the day, explore the Festival of Trees at Tucker Store Pocket Park—another way to experience the holiday spirit in downtown Gloucester.
In the afternoon, the Gloucester County Christmas & Holiday Parade makes its way down Main Street at 3:00 PM, filling downtown with dazzling floats, marching bands, and community groups that bring the holiday spirit to life.
Following the parade, gather in the Historic Court Circle for the beloved Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, presented by the Cook Foundation. Sing along to classic carols and watch the tree sparkle to life, marking the perfect finale to a day of festive fun in the heart of Gloucester Main Street.
